AAADS and the Ethnic Studies community volunteer to combat Bay Area food insecurity

Thank you to all the AAADS and Ethnic Studies communities that contributed towards a successful fresh produce distribution last Saturday.  There were about 100 volunteers that distributed 35,000 pounds of food in 20 hours time.  Vans, trucks and cars took boxes for distribution all over Oakland, Richmond, San Leandro and other areas of need around the Bay.

The next distribution will target pockets of food insecurity in LA area then followed by Sacramento.  On another front, a sustainable development summit will be hosted to bring business, tech, educational institutions and not-for-profit groups to plan for 3-5 year strategic planning and response.
