Seen and Unseen: A Behind-The-Scenes Look

Join Amy Sueyoshi and Stan Yogi, co-curators of “Seen & Unseen: Queering JA History Before 1945”, the first-ever exhibit focused on Nikkei (Japanese emigrants and their descendants) who were involved in intimate same-sex relationships or defied gender roles in the early 20th century. They will provide a brief overview of the exhibit and discuss their motivations for the project, the process of creating the exhibit, and the challenges and joys they encountered.

Co-sponsored by: Asian American & Asian Diaspora Studies 122, the Japanese American Studies Advisory Committee, the Asian Pacific American Student Development Office, the Asian Pacific American Systemwide Alliance, the Asian American Research Center, and the Asian American & Pacific Islander Standing Committee
