Filipin@ Community at Cal’s Call for Support for Victims of Typhoon Haiyan

By sc13
Below is a message from the Filipin@ community on the Berkeley campus regarding support for victims of Typhoon Haiyan.
This is an urgent call for your support. Various concerned groups, departments, and associations on the UC Berkeley campus have come together to create and begin mobilization towards the recent occurrences in the Philippines – and we need your help. The aftermath of Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) have left many of us devastated. Over 580,000 people have been displaced and over 1,800 deaths have been recorded since the Super Typhoon hit numerous provinces in the central Philippines.

Our goal as a community is to raise $10,000 in monetary donations to be directed towards the immediate relief efforts of the National Alliance for Filipino Concerns (NAFCON). Through NAFCON, your donation will be directly sent to national grassroots relief and rehabilitation organizations based in the Philippines.
