AIWA Looking for Volunteer English as Second Language (ESL) Teachers!

By Vy Hoang

AIWA is looking for volunteer English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers!

Asian Immigrant Women Advocates (AIWA), a non-profit organization in Oakland’s Chinatown, is looking for a volunteer teacher to co-teach an ESL class for homecare workers in our Oakland office. Class is held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 and will run from August to October. Our classes are team taught by a volunteer and an AIWA leader, a Peer Teacher. Lesson plans, materials, training and support are provided.

This is a wonderful opportunity to gain some teaching experience in a community based ESL program, become more involved with AIWA, and directly impact the lives of AIWA women.
