Problem Gambling: A Hidden Challenge in the Asian American Community

The AAADS program will be hosting Michael Liao, Director of Programs for the NICOS Chinese Health Coalition, a San Francisco-based public-private-community partnership of more than 30 health and human service organizations.  IN the past 8 years, Mr. Liao has been providing problem gambling training and technical assistance to community-based organizations, professional groups, and governmental agencies throughout California. He has also authored various problem gambling training curricula and educational articles.

Most recently, Mr. Liao managed the Problem Gambling Telephone Intervention (PGTI) project at NICOS. As a family member of a gambling addict, Mr. Liao is grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness about problem gambling.
